Preface (Part 2)

On June 13th 2050, the day had arrived and the predictions were no where to the reality of the destruction that hit Earth. Those who had remained on the surface were instantly killed by the flood of asteroids. Even the rest of Earth’s habitants who had gone underground or lived in the Ocean experienced massive damages. The shower was just the start to a large consecutive row of natural disasters. Tidal waves, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, floods, earthquakes, tornados, lightning showers, everything imaginable that could be categorized as a natural disaster happened in that year.

The entire climate on Earth had changed, seasons had changed, and flora on earth changed and thus did also the inhabitants of Earth; evolution had taken a side track and had sped up 10 folds. The destruction had brought the birth of new organisms that in time created the new fauna on Earth. Up to 50% of Earth’s human populous had been killed and about 75% of Earth’s plants and animals as well. The dawn of man had started again, just this time there was no Garden of Eden as a start off point.

A lot of things had changed as one can imagine. One of the largest changes to humans was their genetic structure. Although the destruction had killed millions of people, there were a few who had miraculously survived the destruction. These individuals had all chosen to remain on the surface when the destruction had occurred. How individuals had survived has been a mystery ever since, they should have died. Some individuals were found fatally wounded and once treated had recovered faster than expected or were brought back from death by some miracle. This was not the only marvel that occurred to those who had survived. Evolution took charge in their bodies and their genetics changed, still maintaining the appearance of humans; however, they developed abilities that had only been imagined through fantasy stories and movies. This new genetic trait became a dominant trait and thus the offspring of these individuals also developed abilities; however, as with many things in life that are unexplainable, there were also offspring that did not receive the dominant trait from their parents. Interestingly enough, many who had developed abilities saw it as a gift to improve and better the life of humans and used their powers to aid the rebuilding of Cities and life on Earth. Those who were found to misuse their abilities were immediately dealt with by others who had abilities. For about 300 years Earth experienced years of peace amongst it’s’ habitants. But humans will be humans and everyone getting along was not something that would last for ever.

100 years after the destructions some humans decided they wanted to live on the surface again. Due to the destruction that had occurred surfaces of Earth had changed and the lands had moved. Once a continent on its own, the northern Americas were now connected to Europe. Africa had drifted further south and was now almost connected to the South Pole. AustralasiaNew Zealand, Central American nations, most of Spain, England, Hawaii, most coastal nations of Asia, and most of Scandinavia had all been engulfed by the risen waters as well as other nations. Although the surface had changed a lot it was still habitable. For everyone who returned to the surface it was like seeing a whole new world filled with new species. Construction of cities started all throughout the world and 5 years later the first surface city was finished and named Anastatius. Due to the shift of lands the names of the continents were taken away and nations became regions. The world was dealt into 7 different regions: Civic Region, Calidity Region, Utopia Region, Beatitude Region, Aphotic Region, Forlorn Region, and Desolate Region. Each region throughout the years developed into a society in which a capital and various small cities throughout the region were created. Essentially the regions represented the new nations that prior existed. had almost disappeared making the remaining only islands. Other countries had vanished due to the sea level having raised, such countries as

1000 years has passed since the tragic day of destruction. Stories of time before then have turned into legends and myths told to children before going to bed. The regions have evolved into territories that all have their own governance. Statuses have developed and not so different from the time it was prior to the incident. Society has been separated into categories in which the Royalty represents those who have the most influence, aristocrats representing individuals who are the leaders in technology and advancement, merchants representing the common man, and at the bottom of the chain the remaining people who struggle for appreciation and live with dreams of becoming better and wealthier. Not much has changed in society and conflicts amongst these different statuses arise constantly. The richest regions consist of the Civic, Utopia and Aphotic regions, whereas the remaining regions represent regions in which most production is made in. The world is rather similar to what it was before, although now technology has advanced and within the human society various races have emerged. Respectively, so has the fauna and flora of the world. Vast arrays of creatures live on Earth, from very small to the extremely large, such sizes that once roamed the Earth in the Prehistoric times. Humans, as they did in the past, considering themselves the most powerful beings on Earth and as before do not cherish or appreciate the world they live in.

Our story starts here.
