Preface (Part 1)

It is said that one drifts or is guided towards a bright light at the end of a tunnel when one dies. During this journey to eternal peace, one’s entire life flashes by and you are able to recall things that you had never really thought about earlier. It is as if death or life is casting its’ final trick on you; making you remember instances of your life that you are going to have to indulge on for a time that seems endless while you are transfixed on reaching the end of the tunnel. One may see this as a peaceful journey but at the same time one could argue that this journey is by far the most torturous journey that a being will ever take.

It is said that one will float above and visualize the dead body that was once engulfed with life. A person goes through life only getting a glimpse of oneself through some sort of mirror-image; however, upon death you are able to see yourself for whom you are and without any help of some sort of mirror-image. Once again one could question whether this is life’s last torture by viewing the body that once was you. The real question however, is what really happens to a person when they die? In the bible the souls of beings continue to live up in heaven, but it also states that those who sin their souls will also die. In Judaism believers are told that nothing in this world is permanent, including death and those who do die will later be revived for the final judgment.

What if a death was unforeseen by a greater power and the individual who in fact died was not supposed to, what happens then? Or is there no right time for death? Although death is a very normal part of life, it is yet an unknown part of life because no one really knows what happens thereafter. How come people have returned after having died? Were they supposed to return, did they have some sort of unfinished business, or was it just not their time to pass on? If one does return does it change the person? Does it change the body? If the body is exposed to a huge shock or life threatening experience it has been reported that humans have been able to do things that may seem impossible. What if this stayed with these humans thereafter and it was not just a moment of strength or a moment of extreme quickness, but permanent due to something unleashing such abilities.

The world has changed in the past hundreds of years. Since that fatal day when Armageddon stood on the door steps of humanity, no one had thought that such destruction could be possible. In the year 2050 the inhabitants of Earth experienced the largest catastrophic occurrence since the Great World Wars. A shower of asteroids had made its’ target Earth and there was nothing that humanity could do to prevent it. Interestingly enough this was also the time in which all nations worked together to find a solution. Underground cities started to form and people moved from the surface deeper into the Earth in hope of shelter and survival. The oceans were used to create large cities also as an alternative for people to live in. All this was accomplished 10 years prior to the estimated year in which the shower of asteroids would arrive to Earth. Some people believed that the shower would not occur and remained on land in their homes; however, no matter what sort of stance was taken destruction was inevitable.
